It's not uncommon to see offerings left at sacred sites, or on trees on significant dates, that aren't bio-degradable or are made from non-renewable resources such as crystals. There has to be a better way! This charm is made from an untreated real wood slice and hung with jute twine. It's laser-engraved on one side, leaving the other side for the giver to include an additional symbolic mark if they wish. It can be safely left at the offering site in the knowledge that the twine will rot and break before, for example, it strangles the branch of a tree, and the charm will slowly return to the earth, giving nutrients to the soil as it does so.

As it's designed to be returned to the earth we've used a 'less than perfect' wood slice, which means there may be areas of bark separated from the wood or missing, or the wood may have imperfections. Imperfect but beautiful!

The A6-sized information card is made using 100% recycled Kraft card and includes a recycled envelope in case you wish to give it to a friend. The card includes the information given above, plus instructions for use and space on the rear to write a message. There's also an outer wrapper, made from from biodegradable corn and potato starch, to protect it from moisture.

Each slice is individually crafted and therefore no two are the same; the item in the product images will not be the exact item you receive. They vary in size between 3cm and 5cm in diameter.
