A woodland scene. On the left is a badger, sitting against a moss-covered tree trunk in the centre of the image, looking towards a crouching woman with bright red hair, her bare arms folded across her chest with her hands over her shoulders. She looks towards the badger with eyes part-closed. Blackberries hang above the badger, with autumn leaves and mushrooms at its feet. The woman is surrounded by large, autumn coloured leaves, with blackberries at her knees. Overall colours are oranges, reds and greens.

About Alexandra Dawe

A fan of folklore, legend and fairytales, the movie ‘Labyrinth’ gave Alexandra a lifelong love of the artwork of Brian and Wendy Froud. The documentary, ‘The Making of Labyrinth’ led her to a career making models, props and special effects for TV and films.

Alexandra is now an author too! Her debut novel, The Stitchwort Curse, is a teenage fantasy adventure about an eccentric family of witches living under a curse in their ruined, haunted mansion.

Born in Liverpool, Alexandra now lives in the south-west with her husband, children, the best dog, two cats and a few elderly chickens. She loves reading, drawing or watching anything spooky.
