A Yin-Yang shape is surrounded by branches of native trees in autumn colours and some bearing fruit. The left hand half of the shape is filled with a pink/pale orange sky, and a large red sun forms the traditional 'dot' over a grassy hill. Autumn leaves and berries overlay the sky, a jay sings flies over, and fungi sit at the bottom. A moth sits on the outside curve. The right hand half features a dark blue sky with stars, with a white moon forming the 'dot'. Autumn leaves and berries overlay the scene.

About the Artist

About Samantha Symonds

Inspired by nature and the seasons, Samantha lives on a small, private nature reserve in Norfolk. Along with her husband and daughter, she planted a mixed native woodland, and now enjoys seeing the trees grow up around their off-grid home.

Following her degree in graphic design in the nineties, she has made her living from design, illustration and art. Watercolour is her preferred medium, sometimes using gouache or acrylic for strength of colour; sometimes ink or coloured pencil to add detail and definition.

Good quality

Good quality, shiny surface and little touches, like the treasures hanging from the raven's beak. A lovely and evocative picture. Well made coaster.
